New Pricing Options to improve positioning in Google Products©.
What is Google Products?
To quote Google:
"We're making some changes to how we help users find things to buy. You may be familiar with our product Froogle (a pun on "frugal"). Froogle offers a lot of great functionality and has helped many users find things to buy over the years, but the name caused confusion for some because it doesn't clearly describe what the product does.
So we're renaming Froogle as Google Product Search. We're taking the opportunity to refocus the user experience on providing the most comprehensive, relevant results in a clean, simple, easy-to-use UI."
This is the ability to load ZERO Price fields.
This option was added for the benefit of those clients who did not wish to show a specific price but preferred a message (e.g. "Contact Supplier").
Users are able to request alternative generic messages by contacting Partspool. However, Partspool reserve the right to reject any request for a phrase which it deems inappropriate.
See additional notes with regard to the impact on "Google Products" seeding.
.
This is the ability to load non-zero prices which will then be displayed on the search result page with the addition of the term "Neg." following the price. If you also wish to apply a standard discount to your prices before you upload them see the User Manual (Section: The File Upload Facility/Setting Sales Price to a Special Value.).
If this option is selected note that any zero/blank prices will automatically be rejected.
.
Part of the standard PARTSPOOL service is that we add all current stock on our database to the Google "Products" system AUTOMATICALLY on a regular basis. However recent correspondence with Google has revealed that:
"You can include any value as a minimum amount to purchase your product. However, please know that items with low 'price' attributes may sometimes be flagged inappropriately. Hence, it is recommended that you use a price value of a minimum of 1.00"
In fact ALL zero price products now fail to appear in Product searches! For this reason we now recommend that clients use the "NEGOTIABLE PRICING" option if they do NOT wish to use normal prices, but still wish to have flexibility in pricing and also appear in a Google Product search. While it would seem that Google are recommending a minimum price of 1.00, our experience, to date, is that lower values ARE normally accepted. As a result the Partspool system will accept ALL prices other that zero or blank.
Success in such a search results in the part appearing at the top of the first page of any appropriate Google search!
And it’s all part of the basic PARTSPOOL service!
The original use of an "invoice only" payment method was designed to accommodation Parts Departments within dealerships where accounts payable procedures required the presentation of an invoice to secure payment. The increasing use of paperless internet-based payment systems within the trade has prompted us to now offer both PayPal and Credit Card as additional payment options for subscription payment.
The use of such options now have the added advantage that we will start to upload your parts onto Google Products at the next scheduled upload. In the past this has been delayed while we awaited the receipt of funds.
As at the 23rd January 2008 we have completely restructured our pricing.
We are now offering:
• UNLIMITED number of parts.
• ANY number of Manufacturers.
• UNLIMITED uploads and amendments.
All this for a few pennies/cents per week!
