MORE DETAILS ON NEW FEATURES

Improved Search Facility.

As the size of the PARTSPOOL database has grown and more dealers have been adding their parts to the system we saw an increasing need to improve the response on all types of searches. As a result the new version has included the porting of the whole site to a completely new database engine giving significant improvements in response times. In some cases this has resulted in a reduction of 98% in the time taken to retrieve specific data!

The search page now includes notes on “Getting the best from your search”. Just make sure you allow “pop-ups” or you won’t be able to see it!

Automatic Inclusion in Google BASE©.

What is Google Base?
To quote Google:

Google Base is a place where you can easily submit all types of online and offline content, which we'll make searchable on Google. You can describe any item you post with attributes, which will help people find it when they do related searches. In fact, based on your items' relevance, users may find them in their results for searches on Froogle, Google Maps and even our main Google web search.”

Getting your parts listed here will certainly increase the chance of finding buyers for your stock. PARTSPOOL now add all current stock on our database to the Google Base system AUTOMATICALLY on a regular basis. Since items only remain valid on the Google Base database for a month unless re-submitted, it’s essential that they are refreshed on a regular schedule. PARTSPOOL now do this for its subscribers automatically thus ensuring that they get the best exposure.

As an example try this link to Google which looks for a Nissan part with a description of plug-welch.
Now, because Products listed in the Products Database are listed at the top of the normal Google search page, you're NUMBER ONE on Google! In this case the user doesn't even have to know the part number. Once you find it, click on the heading to link back to the main Partspool site, where you will find the full details of the part.

Remember that this feature relies heavily on the amount of information stored on the Partspool database, including the part number and part description. Therefore, the more information that can be uploaded to Google the better chance there is of a person inputing that information and finding your part. Try adding the model and year to the description if you can extract this information from your parts management system. Remember, that adding the part number to a Google search will significantly increase your chance of a page one position, the person looking for the part, however, may not know the number. There are a LOT of people competing for the NUMBER ONE slot and we cannot gaurantee that every part will make that shot. The more information you supply the better chance we have of getting you in that prime position!

And it’s all part of the basic PARTSPOOL service!

“Feeder Sites”.

PARTSPOOL is constantly looking for ways to improve the exposure of your stock on the Internet. The importance of Search Engines has never been greater. However a site like PARTSPOOL, which is based on the use of a backend Database, presents a problem to the spider and robot technology used by the Search Engines. A search engine cannot (currently) trawl through a database. So details of individual part records will not appear in search engine results.

PARTSPOOL has overcome this restriction by building separate “feeder” web sites. Each web site (e.g. www.nissan-parts-at-partspool.co.uk) contains one or more web pages for each individual part record on the PARTSPOOL database. These pages ARE visible to the search engines and are increasingly starting to appear in the main search engine listings. PARTSPOOL regenerate the content of these feeder sites from the live database on a regular basis so that the content of these sites matches the live data. Since every page includes links back to the main Partspool.com site this ensures that your parts has maximum exposure. This process is further enhanced by the use of Google SiteMaps.

And it’s all part of the basic PARTSPOOL service!

Google Site Maps©

What are Google SiteMaps?
To quote Google:

“Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to submit all your URLs to the Google index and get detailed reports about the visibility of your pages on Google. With Google Sitemaps, you can automatically keep us informed of all of your current pages and of any updates you make to those pages. Please note that submitting a Sitemap doesn't guarantee that all pages of your site will be crawled or included in our search results.”

PARTSPOOL now regularly submits sitemaps for its sites, including all the feeder sites. Each time there are changes in the database, and therefore a change in the feeder sites, we re-generate and re-submit the Sitemaps. We loose no opportunity to help increase the exposure of your stock.

And it’s all part of the basic PARTSPOOL service!

Now with Breaker Stock

The existing site has always included a facility to categorise stock. This has included Manufacturer, Pattern, Re-conditioned, or Second-hand. We have now included the ability to add Breaker Stock. This includes the facility to add non-priced items where the actual condition of the items is still subject to inspection.

Instant Visibility

As soon as you successfully add your stock it is instantly visible. Once you join the service you can load your stock within a few minutes and it will be visible on the site straight away. Depending on the timing of the next re-generation and re-submission it will be added to the Google Base and the feeder sites within a day or two.

RSS Newsfeeds

PARTSPOOL is now developing a number of RSS(Really Simple Syndication) newsfeeds so that you can see the activity on the site.

What parts other people are looking for?

What parts have recently been added to the database?

The first of these is available now.

All searches on the main site are now reported via a newsfeed at

The list shows up to 100 of the latest searches made on the site in the last 24 hours. This list is updated every hour.
If you are an existing seller, perhaps you have got one of those parts and haven't put it on the system yet.
If you are not currently a Registered Dealer, its quick and easy to join and add your parts.
If you would like to add this feed to your site just follow the instructions on the page.

What is PARTSPOOL?

The PARTSPOOL INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE PARTS LOCATOR is a system designed specifically to help the motor trader. We provide the facility to both find vital parts AND enable you to tell the world about that old stock which you would otherwise be ready to throw away.

The PARTSPOOL system allows Automotive Dealers, or anyone, anywhere in the world to locate critical parts. The system is multi-manufacturer and is FREE to use by anyone looking for essential parts to get a vehicle back on the road. PARTPOOL is the information provider; once the part has been located all further contact is between the buyer and the seller. PARTSPOOL plays no further part in the transaction. WE do not stock vehicle parts, we do not sell vehicle parts and we do not buyl vehicle parts.

Dealers are encouraged to load their full parts list since this will promote the sales of both current 'difficult to procure parts' and old 'non-moving' parts. Perhaps a dealer in the Third World or a 'vintage' car specialist would like to buy your complete inventory of redundant parts which are currently cluttering up your parts department!
Why use PARTSPOOL?

Do you have a VOR waiting for an obsolete, NLA or vital part on long back order?

Is the cost of an insurance claim escalating while you search for that difficult to find part?

Do you have old stock cluttering up your parts department?
You may have little call for it, but someone, somewhere is probably searching frantically for it!

DON’T BIN IT! SELL IT!

The system now has over 800,000 parts on-line!

The system can help in locating a temporary 'out of stock' part as well as finding buyers for those old and obsolete parts which you still have in your inventory.

Is a portion of your normal business the supply of parts to the trade? If so, why not use Partspool.com as part of your normal advertising programme.
